TrueAura ("we", "our", "the app") is a digital wellness application. We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy, especially because our primary users are teens.

1. Information We Collect

Data stored locally on your device:

• Mood entries: Mood label, emoji, intensity, contextual tags, optional notes, optional social media minutes, and timestamp.
• Journal entries: Free-text entries with optional tags and timestamps.
• Focus sessions: Session mode, duration, start/end time, completion status, phone pickup count.
• Goals: Goal type, target values, progress, and streak data.
• Preferences: Name, grade level, selected avatar, dark mode setting, notification preferences.

Data we do NOT collect:

• No personal identifiers (email, phone number, real name)
• No location data
• No browsing history or advertising identifiers
• No analytics or usage tracking
• No data shared with third parties

2. Screen Time & Family Controls

TrueAura uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls framework) solely to enable optional app-blocking during focus sessions. This data is processed entirely by Apple's framework on your device and is never transmitted to us.

3. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored locally using Apple's Core Data framework with iOS encryption. When your device is locked, your TrueAura data is encrypted at rest. We do not use cloud storage, iCloud sync, or any remote database.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

TrueAura does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since all data remains on-device and we have no servers, we are fully compliant with COPPA, GDPR-K, and other children's privacy regulations.

5. Data Deletion

Delete all data anytime: use "Delete All Data" in Profile → Settings, or simply delete the app from your device.

6. Data Export

TrueAura includes an optional export feature that creates a JSON file locally, shared only through iOS's native share sheet — we never see it.

7. Third-Party Services

TrueAura does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools.

8. Changes

We will update this page if our practices change. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, graphics, avatars, and branding within TrueAura are the property of TrueAura and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

6. Limitation of Liability

TrueAura is provided "as is" without warranties. We shall not be liable for any damages arising from use of the app.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States.

Common Issues

Screen Time permissions

Go to Settings → Screen Time and enable it, then reopen TrueAura and tap "Enable" when prompted.

Data seems lost

Data is stored locally. If you reinstalled, previous data is gone. Use Export in Profile → Settings to back up.
